The Fire Kings are a small Archetype of Fire Monsters whose effects focus on destruction and rebirth.
Their Boss Monster resembles the Phoenix.
They support the classic role of Fire Monsters: high ATK, but low DEF and destroying cards.
The Story:
The "Fire Kings" live in a volcanic island, lying in the southern seas. Using their powers over the fire, they could reincarnate, and grow using its powers again. When the "Fire Kings" saw their temple threatened by the "Atlantean" army, they fought back in equal strength, only enough to keep the invaders away from their island.
The Monsters:
Garunix resembles the Phoenix.
The liitle Garunix shares it's first effect with all other Fire King Avatars: when a Fire King is destroyed by an effect (except during the damage step), you can special summon it from your hand. When the little garunix is destroyed by your opponent, it summon another Fire King Avatar from your deck. (This does NOT include the big Garunix. It must be summoned by other means.)
The big Garunix is the Phoenix. When it is destroyed by an effect, it resurrects during the next turn and destroys all other monsters.
And if it is destroyed by battle, it calls a Fire King from your deck. Usually the little Garunix, so this is also like a rebirth.
Yaksha resembles a "Yaksha", a nature spirit.
It is the trigger of the deck. When it is destroyed, you can destroy another monster on your field or hand to trigger their effects.
This is one way to summon big Garunix and also lets you activate all other Fire King effects.
Barong resembles the God Barong, King of Spirits.
He is the searcher of the deck. When he is destroyed by a card effect, you can grab any Fire King card from your deck during the next turn.
Kirin resembles a Unicorn.
It is the spark that ignites the fire of the deck.
When it is destroyed, you can send 1 Fire Monster from your deck to the graveyard.
This is another way to prepare the summon of big Garunix.
(Note that Kirin does not destroy the card, so it won't trigger the Fire Kings effects.)
The Spells:
Most of the Fire Kings prepare the summon of the Phoenix, but only 1 actually triggers the summon of the Phoenix.
For more fire power to summon the Phoenix, the deck has 3 spell cards:
Onslaught of the Fire Kings depicts the combustion of the Phoenix.
It is the Phoenix greatest power, but also brings it's death. But only for a short while, because after that, the Resurrection begins.
If there is an enemy, you can summon a fire beast (for example the Phoenix) from your hand, but it will die at the end of this turn.
This will trigger your Fire Kings effects and is the most efficient method to summon the Phoenix.
Circle of the Fire Kings depicts the rebirth of the Phoenix.
And that is exactly what it does: Destroy one of your Fire Monsters to revive another Fire Monster from your Graveyard.
This allows you trigger your Fire King effects and special summons the big Garunix (or any other).
Fire King Island is the home of the Fire Kings and has 2 effects, but only one of them can be used each turn.
1: You can destroy 1 of your monsters to grab a Fire King Monster from your deck.
(This is almost like a combination of Yaksha and Barong.)
2: If you control no monsters, you can special summon the Phoenix from your hand.
Additionally, when the Island sinks into the Ocean (send to the grave or banished) it destroys all your monsters.
(This will trigger your Fire King effects.)
and another card:
High Tide on Fire Island depicts the battle between the Fire Kings and the Atlanteans.
It can be used in both decks.
The Fire King effect can be activated when you control the Phoenix (or another high-level Fire Monster) and destroys 1 monster on the field, but you must discard 1 card afterwards.
This can be used to destroy an opposing monster or you own to trigger their effects, but the discard cost make it rather ineffective compared to the other destruction effects in this deck.
If you want to play a card like this to have another trigger for your Fire King effects, I recommend to use Destruct Potion, Generation Shift or Ring of Destruction instead.
Otherwise, you may as well use Royal Decree to prevent Trap cards being used at all.
